West Ham United could swoop in to sign Troy Parrott from AZ Alkmaar this summer.

The Republic of Ireland international has certainly picked up a positive reputation in the Netherlands.

The 24-year-old has scored 51 goals in just 95 appearances for the Eredivisie side since signing in 2024.

That has unsurprisingly prompted interest in the market as many sides go in search of a new forward.

The Hammers are certainly one of those as Nuno Espirito Santo goes in search of fresh attacking options.

Parrott is on the shortlist at the London Stadium, but could require a very hefty price.

The former Tottenham striker has certainly emerged as a goalscoring talent since moving to the Netherlands.

He is coming off the back of a campaign consisting of 41 goal involvements after 24 the year before.

That was always going to attract interest and the Irons are certainly in the race.

Alan Nixon reported via Patreon on Sunday that the Irons are making a move for the Irishman with an eye on an instant return to the Premier League.

Parrott could cost the E20 outfit upwards of £20million, a fee which could put many competitors off making a move, but not the Hammers.

With West Ham Zone also covering a keen interest in Wilson Isidor at Sunderland, it could prove to be an expensive summer.

How West Ham can smash Championship transfer records

There's no doubt that the signings of Parrott or Isidor would be massive for the Hammers.

They could break, or come extremely close to breaking, the Championship transfer record for an indivdual.

Ipswich Town's move for Sindre Walle Egeli holds that at £17.5m, while Ruben Neves and Britt Assombalonga come second and third respectively at closer to £15m.

That record would be smashed should Parrott or Isidor come in, while the same could be said about Simon Adingra.

If the Hammers can get all those deals over the line, on top of other links like Arne Engels and Morgan Whittaker, it could take spending to close to £80m.

That could go well clear of the most money spent in one window by a Championship team after Aston Villa spent a reported £74m in 2016.

Nuno would have to hope that would be enough to get his side back into the Premier League, otherwise he could face a difficult future in East London.
