West Ham United: ‘Illegal documents’ holding up January transfer for FC Nordsjaelland ace Ibrahim Osman
West Ham have hit a stumbling block in their attempt to sign Ibrahim Osman due to “illegal documents” being submitted by the FC Nordsjaelland forward’s agent.
Farzam Abolhosseini, a reliable journalist for Danish outlet B.T, reported via his personal Twitter page on Sunday (28 January) that West Ham’s move for Osman has stalled.
Abolhosseini explained how talks were progressing nicely between all three parties, only for a rogue agent to throw a spanner in the works.
It is claimed Mitch Bakkovens believes he is Osman’s agent, but the Danish FA has confirmed that Darryl Powell is actually his representative due to the former possessing “illegal documents”.
“A mess”
The Irons were expected to get a deal over the line for the 19-year-old with time to spare before next week’s deadline, but that is now highly doubtful.
As Abolhosseini pointed out, it is indeed “a mess” and West Ham do not have any time to waste in their attempt to add to the squad.
If Osman was going to be the only striker brought in between now and the February 1 deadline, it is time to start exploring deals elsewhere.
David Moyes is clearly in need of another striker and there are options out there in the same price bracket.
The last thing United want is for this situation with Osman to drag on and all of a sudden time is up to bring in that elusive attacking player.
This particular deal can be explored once again further down the line, but for now it is “a mess” the club could do without being embroiled in.
