West Ham United interested in Paris Saint-Germain defender Abdou Diallo amid Nayef Aguerd injury
West Ham United are tracking Paris Saint-Germain defender Abdou Diallo as David Moyes looks to find defensive cover after Nayef Aguerd’s injury according to Media Foot Marseille.
Aguerd is set to be out for three months after undergoing surgery on his ankle after being ruled out in West Ham’s preseason match against Rangers.
Moyes may now on the lookout for cover and the French news outlet suggested on Wednesday 27 July that the Senegal international could be available for a fee of around £17million.

Diallo is reportedly transfer listed so he is sure to be available but there is apparently competition in the form of Napoli and Rennes.
Smart move
This feels like a really smart piece of business from Moyes with Aguerd’s injury a huge blow to his preparations for the upcoming campaign.
The West Ham boss had made Aguerd his main target at the start of the summer, with bolstering his defence a priority after the Hammers’ poor end to the season.
There has obviously been a lot of talk around Gianluca Scamacca’s arrival at the club but it is crucial that Moyes pays attention to other areas of his squad.

Heading into the new season without a new addition to his defence could be a risk for the West Ham boss.
Diallo looks like good cover for Aguerd, having featured 16 times for PSG in the 2021/22 season and is entering the final two years of his current deal.
Furthermore, he is a versatile defender who can operate in the left-back role as well as dropping into midfield if required.
This is a move that the Hammers may be forced into, especially if Issa Diop leaves the London Stadium this summer.
