West Ham United in front row ready to seal Arkadiusz Milik transfer now
West Ham are one of the clubs in the “front row” to sign Juventus striker Arkadiusz Milik this summer, according to Corriere Dello Sport.
The Italian newspaper reported in their print edition (30 July, page 13) that as well as Everton, the Hammers are one of the clubs best placed to complete a transfer for the 30-year-old forward.
The Poland international is reportedly not in the plans of new Juventus manager Thiago Motta, and after that resulted in “sirens” from the Premier League, the Irons have enquired about his availability [Tutto Sport, 23 July].
West Ham still exploring options for striker in transfer window
There are few areas of the Hammers squad that needed more attention than the number nine role upon the arrival of Julen Lopetegui, but the Spaniard is yet to find his man so far this summer.
Brazilian youngster Luis Guilherme and Lopetegui’s former Wolves captain Max Kilman have already been brought through the doors, but a statement number nine signing is still waiting in the wings.

The Irons have come closest to signing 20-year-old Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran, but with Villa not budging from a £40million asking price [Evening Standard, 26 July], it’s hardly surprising to see Lopetegui exploring other options.
While Milik is 10 years Duran’s elder and yet to play in the Premier League whatsoever, a physical striker with a strong track record could prove to be exactly what the Hammers need next season.
A 30-year-old striker who has done the rounds across Europe cannot be the foundation of a long-term plan in East London, but signing Milik could be a solid stop-gap for the next 12 months at least.
In other West Ham news, the Irons face another transfer battle with Premier League and Ligue 1 sides for a 19-year-old Brazilian winger.
