West Ham United in advanced talks for Nayef Aguerd transfer in late new twist
West Ham United are in advanced talks with Real Sociedad over a last-minute loan exit for Nayef Aguerd, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
The Sky Sports journalist reported via X on Friday (30 August) that the La Liga club have begun talks with the Hammers over an initial loan for the Moroccan defender ahead of the transfer deadline.
Although discussions are underway between the two sides, a deal is not yet done with it not yet clear if the centre-back will exit the London Stadium before the window slams shut.
Aguerd has already rejected one opportunity to complete a move away from East London this season, with reports suggesting he turned down the chance to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad [Santi Aouna, 30 August].

Just when you think the Hammers’ transfer business for the summer may finally be coming to an end as the deadline drew closer, but it appears as though there is plenty of work still going on both in and out of the London Stadium.
The Irons have spent heavily in Julen Lopetegui’s first summer in charge, particularly when it comes to revamping the defence and that has left Aguerd and a couple of his teammates in limbo heading into the new season.
It isn’t now clear where Aguerd fits into the former Real Madrid manager’s plans this term and while he could play a role later in the season, there appears to be desire on the Irons’ part to get him off of their books before the deadline.
While it isn’t yet clear if this deal will definitely happen before the transfer window closes, the fact that talks are already advanced means that there is a good chance the centre-back could head to La Liga on loan.
This could well be one to keep en eye on now right up until the deadline.
