West Ham United in active talks to unlock improved bid for Carlos Soler – Fabrizio Romano
West Ham United are in “active talks” with Nottingham Forest over a transfer for James Ward-Prowse, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist reported via X (30 August) that this deal could be “key” for the Hammers.
It would allow Julen Lopetegui’s side to make an improved offer for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Carlos Soler ahead of the transfer window shutting at 11 pm on Friday (30 August).
West Ham United to sell James Ward-Prowse and sign Carlos Soler?
This would be an incredibly exciting finish to what has been an incredibly exciting transfer window for supporters at the London Stadium.
Several impressive signings have been made, particularly in defence, with Max Milman, Jean-Clair Todibo and Aaron Wan-Bissaka all joining the club.
There have been some impressive additions in forward areas too, such as Crysencio Summerville and 18-year-old Luis Guilherme.
And if the club were to now bring in Soler in midfield, that would be the icing on the cake.
Lopetegui is clearly not the biggest fan of Ward-Prowse, and Soler is likely to fit into his plans more.
Therefore, if West Ham could seal a deal for the Englishman which would then allow them to sign the Spaniard, that would be quite the series of events.
However, time is running out for the Hammers, Nottingham Forest and PSG to get these deals over the line. As a result, this transfer might not get done in time.
In other West Ham news, Crystal Palace have launched a hijack deal for one player on his way out of the London Stadium.
