West Ham are holding talks with Filip Kostic’s agent today and are willing to offer him a “significant increase in wages” to convince him to join, says ExWHUemployee.
The Hammers are on the verge of closing a deal for Gianluca Scamacca in a £35m deal, with his medical already completed. His agent is present, and also represents Kostic, so West Ham are trying to seal that deal too.
According to an update by Ex on his Patreon [July 26], the player is now considering giving up Champions League football at Frankfurt to join the London club in exchange for the higher wage package.
David Moyes is a big fan of Kostic’s ability to play all the way up the left hand side of the pitch and his ability from set-pieces, and the club have had a bid worth around £10.5m accepted by the Bundesliga side.
There are some fears that another club could be about to enter the race and that could be something that forces West Ham to speed up negotiations with his agent.

The club have been excellent in the transfer market so far this summer and that is seemingly continuing with this bit of business too.
After the disappointment of the Armando Broja chase, the club quickly pivoted to a new target and got a deal done for a highly rated striker and simultaneously accelerated their pursuit of a new left back.
Kostic was among the names on a three-name shortlist and it seems as though he was the easiest and best value deal to do, so Moyes and the board have moved quickly to seal it.
Convincing someone to give up Champions League football is never easy, but the club have shown their ambition and aren’t afraid to play bigger wages to get it over the line.
It’s a positive update and problem areas are being addressed during the window, so fans can be happy and excited ahead of the new season less than a fortnight away.
