West Ham United ‘have already moved’ for Daniel Boloca transfer

West Ham United scouts have been closely monitoring the progress of Sassuolo midfielder Daniel Boloca, who is drawing interest from big-name clubs, according to Tuttosport.

The Italian news outlet shared on 1 November that West Ham have already moved to send scouts to follow his progress, as he is approaching a possible call-up to the Italian national team.

The report also claims that Boloca wants to “take over Italy” as he has set his personal targets high, having progressed from playing in the Serie D (the fourth division) just four years ago.

A move to East London could be the next step

His rapid rise to prominence in Italian football is a huge display of the desire and determination Boloca has to reach the very top of the game. His performances for Sassuolo in Serie A so far have garnered plenty of interest, with the Hammers taking extra steps.

Sending scouts to monitor his progress is a good sign of intent, and they may look to move sooner rather than later to jump ahead of their competitors in a bid to bring the 24-year-old to the club before they miss out.

One criticism of the transfer team at West Ham has always been that they take too long to move, so it would be a nice change of pace to see the club make a move for one of their key targets before they are beaten to the punch.

Tim Steidten’s arrival as the new technical director over the summer has kickstarted a new recruitment drive at West Ham, and the monitoring of targets across Europe will prove an exciting move. If Boloca can perform as well as some of Steidten’s other signings, he will quickly become a fan-favourite in East London.
