West Ham United given Fikayo Tomori hope in £24m AC Milan transfer update

West Ham United are eyeing AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori ahead of the January transfer window, Calciomercato reports.

According to the Italian news outlet’s website [30 November], Milan set a £24million valuation on the centre-back in the summer but would now be willing to settle for a lower fee as Paolo Fonseca is eager to move the Englishman on.

The Hammers entered discussions with the Serie A outfit in the summer for both Tomori and Malick Thiaw [HITC] but opted to complete the loan signing of Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice.

West Ham United need another centre-back in January

Tim Steidten re-shaped the backline throughout the summer transfer window, adding Max Kilman and Todibo to the ranks at West Ham, and yet the East London outfit still conceded five goals in the opening 45 minutes in the 5-2 loss against Arsenal on Saturday [30 November].

While Aaron Wan-Bissaka has proven to be a resounding success at the London Stadium since his acquisition from Manchester United, the Hammers will need to be active again in January to stand any chance of reviving an abysmal season.

Therefore, a move for Tomori makes sense by all accounts – the defender is eager to return to the Premier League after three years in Italy, and a return to London may help Stediten to convince the Englishman to sport the claret and blue of West Ham, with Aston Villa also in the frame for his signature.

Juventus are also interested, so a deal for Tomori will not be straightforward, but adding yet another centre-back was always going to be likely in 2025 given Kilman has largely failed to justify his £45m price tag

Furthermore, Tomori was one of the fastest defenders in the division during his time with Chelsea.

Paired with extensive Champions League experience and a Serie A title winner, Tomori and Todibo’s potential partnership is a frightening prospect.
