West Ham United given encouragement in Carlos Soler pursuit amid PSG talks – Dharmesh Sheth

West Ham are encouraged by Carlos Soler’s willingness to move to the London Stadium from Paris Saint-Germain, according to Dharmesh Sheth.

The Sky Sports journalist posted an update on X (26 August) about the Hammers’ pursuit of the Spain midfielder, saying the clubs remain in talks about the fee and structure of any deal.

Soler was omitted from PSG’s Ligue 1 clash with Montpellier on Friday as an exit from the French capital appears inevitable.

West Ham grow in confidence with Carlos Soler deal

The Hammers have been extremely busy throughout the transfer window to mould the team into new head coach Julen Lopetegui’s liking.

Luis Guilherme, Max Kilman, Guido Rodriguez, Jean-Clair Todibo, Crysencio Summerville, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Niclas Fullkrug are among the marquee signings already brought to the club.

And it appears as though Lopetegui is closing in on yet another addition in the form of 27-year-old Spain international Soler, who has fallen down the pecking order at PSG.

Soler would add some guile, culture and eye for a pass into the Hammers’ engine room and is also a Ligue 1 title winner from his time at PSG.

If the Hammers can get this one over the line it would mark the continuation of an extremely impressive summer transfer window from Tim Steidten and co. It appears now that the main stumbling block to overcome is the terms of the deal. Let’s hope it can be sorted before Friday’s deadline.

In other West Ham news, the club are ready to listen to offers for two players before August 30.
