West Ham United face pivotal 24 hours in bid to sign Jean-Clair Todibo

West Ham United have been told that the next 24 hours could be “pivotal” to the club signing Nice defender Jean Clair-Todibo, according to GiveMeSport.

The outlet reported on 5 August that due to Juventus’ advancement in talks for the Frenchman, the next day or so could decide the Frenchman’s future.

The report goes on to add that both Julen Lopetegui and Tim Steidten now feel that a ‘hijacking’ of the deal is unlikely, but the situation will soon become clearer.

West Ham United forgetting about Jean Clair-Todibo is best idea

As much as West Ham fans would have likely wanted to welcome Todibo to their ranks, there would be no use in having a player who wasn’t full in it at the club.

The vast majority of the transfer window has been filled with rumours linking the Ligue 1 ace to the London Stadium, but, in the end, Juventus is where Todibo sees the next step of his career occurring.

Lopetegui even went as far as having an offer accepted [Santi Aouna, 17 July] for the 24-year-old, who won a LaLiga title medal with Barcelona in 2018-19, but it evidently wasn’t meant to be.

The Hammers have also been linked with other defenders across the window so all hope isn’t yet lost, and despite the Hammers’ impending addition of Niclas Fullkrug [West Ham Football, 5 August], it doesn’t seem like the club is going to stop there.

Should the transfer window carry on as it has done over the last month for the club, there’s no reason why they can’t aim for European places by the end of the campaign.
