West Ham United face final hurdle to complete Max Kilman transfer from Wolves
West Ham United are finalising agent fees ahead of completing a £40million deal with Wolves for defender Max Kilman, according to Ben Jacobs.
Writing on X on Thursday (July 4), the journalist claimed that Kilman’s medical will potentially take place as early as Friday (July 5).
The Irons had an improved bid for Kilman accepted by Premier League rivals Wolves on Thursday (July 4).
Jacobs wrote: “Understand West Ham’s bid for Max Kilman has now been accepted in principle.
“West Ham now finalising the agent fees. Kilman could undergo his West Ham medical as early as tomorrow.”
Fabrizio Romano also reported that the deal is set to be completed within 24 hours, as both clubs have agreed on the transfer.
Kilman will become United’s third summer signing after deals for Luis Guilherme and Wes Foderingham.
Julen Lopetegui is desperate for Max Kilman reunion at West Ham United
Lopetegui is pulling out all the stops to bring Kilman to West Ham, and it’s easy to see why.
With a £40m bid now accepted in principle, the deal shows just how much Kilman is valued, especially as the Hammers face potential departures of key defenders like Nayef Aguerd and Kurt Zouma [Graeme Bailey].
At 27, Kilman offers a perfect mix of experience and skill, making him a great addition to strengthen the team’s backline.
Lopetegui’s drive to reunite with Kilman is no surprise. They had a great partnership at Wolves, where Kilman’s defensive abilities and confidence with the ball stood out.
This move is a clear indication of Lopetegui’s strategy to build a solid defence for his first season at the London Stadium.
With the medical scheduled and paperwork almost done, Hammers fans can look forward to a stronger, more cohesive defence with Kilman in the squad.
