West Ham United eyeing Jakub Kiwior transfer for the future not this summer – Fabrizio Romano

West Ham United are interested in signing Serie A defender Jakub Kiwior, but only in future windows and not this summer according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Hammers have been linked with the 22-year-old Poland defender and Gianluca Di Marzio says the club submitted a £10m bid for the Spezia centre-back.

However according to Romano on his CaughtOffside substack, while there is interest in the player it is only for future windows although he does expect the club to be busy in the coming days.

“I believe West Ham will be busy in the next few days – while Spezia centre-back Jakub Kiwior is being monitored by the Hammers for the future and not for this summer,” he said.

West Ham are currently looking to complete deals for defenders Thilo Kehrer and Emerson Palmieri this week after submitting bids to PSG and Chelsea respectively, according to The Sun.

Future

It’s always great to have one eye on the future and the club is well known to scout players for a while before they actually make a move.

Kiwior is someone that reports have been mixed on, but what’s clear is that West Ham have been having a look at him for their squad whether it be now or in the future.

West Ham

Romano is obviously exceptionally reliable when it comes to transfers and that leads us to believe him here, which means the club can probably relax a little bit.

Right now they need to focus on strengthening the squad in this window because it’s essential that the club are able to bring in several new faces between now and the August 31st deadline at 11pm.

Defeats in the two opening games isn’t ideal at all, but there is plenty of time to turn it around starting with the midweek game against Vibor before the Premier League clash with Brighton at the weekend.
