West Ham United eyeing deadline-day Filip Kostic signing, Juventus ‘in a hurry’ to sell player
West Ham remain interested in signing Filip Kostic as Juventus are “in a hurry” to sell the versatile midfielder, according to CalcioMercato.
The Italian news outlet reported on 1 September that the Serie A giants are looking for a fee in the region of £12.9million to allow the Serbian international to leave on deadline day.
It said Juventus are “doing everything not to lose the interest” of the Hammers in the 30-year-old, with the Italian side potentially open to a loan with an option-to-buy clause included in the deal.

Pay the Kost
It’s hard to predict which way this one is going to go as West Ham seem reasonably happy already with the business they have done in this transfer window.
The Irons’ excellent start to the season has probably eased the burden on signing more new players, but they have to be careful that they don’t leave themselves short down the line.
The potential deal for Kostic could be straightforward if the Hammers wanted it to be, as Juve are clearly keen to sell and the price isn’t actually that high for a player that has racked up more than 500 career appearances, including turning out 55 times for his country.
He also played in 54 games for the Serie A club last season, scoring three goals and laying on 11 assists on the back of signing from Frankfurt, where he won the Europa League in 2022.

The Serbian’s ability to play anywhere up the left-hand side of the field would also add great versatility and could prove to be a real asset with the club hoping to have another successful season in Europe.
But the deal appears to depend on whether Maxwell Cornet leaves the London Stadium for Everton, with the Ivory Coast international falling down the pecking order and looking unlikely to have a future at the club.
In other West Ham news, David Moyes has made his decision on a new forward as the deadline approaches.
