West Ham United eye Samuel Chukwueze as AC Milan make £16m+ transfer decision
Samuel Chukwueze is a transfer target for West Ham United and other Premier League clubs after falling out of favour at AC Milan, according to MilanLive.
The Italian outlet reported on 4 October that the Nigerian winger’s time at San Siro looks set to come to an end, with Milan keen to recoup a fee between £16.7million and £20.9m for the 25-year-old.
Chukwueze is reportedly “losing value” the longer his minutes continue to decline, but the Irons will face competition from Atletico Madrid to sign him, as well as Newcastle, Aston Villa and the Saudi Pro League.
MilanLive’s report states that Villa are the club best placed to buy Chukwueze due to the Rossoneri’s interest in Matty Cash, but the Hammers may still be inclined to pursue a deal for the winger in January.
Do West Ham United need Samuel Chukwueze transfer?
While the new-look Irons haven’t made the strongest start to their first Premier League campaign under Julen Lopetegui, it’s impossible to argue that they aren’t already well-stocked in the wide positions.
For a side already featuring arguably world-class players in the form of Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus, further strength has been added with the arrivals of Crysencio Summerville and Luis Guilherme.

Although Lopetegui has been hesitant to utilise his new signings so far – with Guilherme yet to feature and Summerville starting just one Premier League match – the young wingers’ times will surely come.
With the versatile Lucas Paqueta and Carlos Soler also comfortable operating out wide, it remains to be seen if, and how, Chukwueze would be able to fight his way into the starting XI under Lopetegui.
A rumoured bust-up between Lopetegui and Kudus could open the door for the Irons to exchange their star man for Chukwueze, but that issue could well be resolved before the January window comes into view.
