West Ham United are showing an interest in Lennon Miller along with Newcastle United and several other Premier League teams, according to TBR Football.

The news outlet reported on 28 November that the Hammers are one of the teams who've watched the 18-year-old Scottish player in action for Motherwell this season.

Motherwell consider Miller to be the best prospect to come through their ranks and will look to get at least £5million to part ways with the Scotsman.

West Ham United need Lennon Miller transfer to improve squad

The Hammers had a busy summer, signing the likes of Max Kilman, Guido Rodriguez and Niclas Fullkrug in the previous transfer window.

Julen Lopetegui has failed to bring the best out of the players at his disposal, with the Irons sitting 14th in the Premier League table.

West Ham did manage to get one over Newcastle in their 2-0 win on 25 November, putting in their best performance of the campaign and potentially saving the Spanish manager from the sack.

Lopetegui changed things up a bit for the match at St James' Park, playing Tomas Soucek and Carlos Soler in the middle of the park.

The Spaniard has relied on Edson Alvarez and Rodriguez in the middle of the park for most of the campaign, but the two have looked slow and seemingly lack the agility needed.

Miller's addition to the squad could add much-needed youthfulness to the Irons' squad.

But it remains to be seen whether the 18-year-old will make his way to the London Stadium, considering Lopetegui hasn't really relied on academy prospects during his time at the Hammers.

The fact that the Spaniard lacks the courage to give young players regular minutes could deter the Scottish national from picking East London as his next destination.
