West Ham United eye Jonathan Tah transfer after London Stadium scouts travel to watch him again
West Ham have again watched Jonathan Tah in action as their interest in the German defender continues in the lead-up to the summer window, according to HITC.
A report from Graeme Bailey on the outlet’s website on 25 March that a host of Premier League clubs are interested in the Bayer Leverkusen man with the Hammers, the only side named, having watched him play for Germany in the 2-0 victory against France in Lyon on 23 March.
David Moyes’ men also face Xabi Alonso’s unbeaten side in the next round of the Europa League, with their interest in the 28-year-old seemingly mounting.
West Ham are said to have been interested in Tah for two years, but have now watched him multiple times this season amid an unsettled centre-back picture at the London Stadium.
Tim Steidten to seek West Ham deal for Xabi Alonso regular?
Centre-back never seems to be off the agenda with the Irons in recent seasons as all of Kurt Zouma, Thilo Kehrer, Nayef Aguerd and Konstantinos Mavropanos have arrived in the past three years.
Kehrer has already departed again, while there have been regular links to Aguerd leaving as well, amid irregular defensive form in the squad, and versatile back-up Ben Johnson appears to be heading for the exit too.
With Angelo Ogbonna, who will be 36 in May, not featuring much it is difficult to argue that any of the four senior options have made the position theirs at any point this season, so it isn’t a huge surprise that the club would again be looking at new recruits.
As with everything in the transfer market currently a lot will depend on whether Moyes is given a contract extension or not.

But as long as Tim Steidten doesn’t depart the transfer plans should stay fairly consistent, although if the club are now looking to solidify their interest in Tah they will likely have a fight on their hands since Leverkusen players will be in the highest demand for some time after their stand-out campaign under Alonso.
If Moyes does stay therefore the manager and technical director won’t be able to afford any delays or disagreements behind the scenes or else they are bound to get left behind in the race.
In other West Ham news, an agent claims he has already held discussions over a Hammers move for his European striker client.
