West Ham United explore deal to sign Bayern Munich ace Mazaroui

West Ham United are exploring a deal for Bayern Munich defender Noussair Mazraoui, according to Florian Plettenberg.

The Sky Sports Germany journalist reported via X on Monday (22 July) that Manchester United are also interested in the right-back.

Mazraoui is keen to play in the Premier League and is at the top of both United and the Hammers’ lists.

Bayern Munich will allow the 26-year-old to leave the club.

This would be a huge statement of intent from the Hammers.

If the club could beat Manchester United to the signing of a Bayern Munich player, supporters at the London Stadium would no doubt be delighted.

Julen Lopetegui will be keen to add defensive reinforcements as he gets set to take charge of the Hammers next season.

Only the three teams relegated from the Premier League last year conceded more times than West Ham. As a result, this is something which Lopetegui will be keen to address.

Bringing in Maximillian Kilman from Wolves was the first step, but there is still plenty more work to do.

A new right-back is another priority for the club, and Mazraoui would therefore be the perfect addition.

If he is allowed to leave Munich, and there is an indication that a deal can be done, the Hammers should be going all out to get this transfer over the line.

In other West Ham news, Leeds United have responded after the club submitted an official bid to sign Crysencio Summerville.
