West Ham United exchange paperwork right now for Said Benrahma exit to Lyon – Fabrizio Romano
West Ham and Lyon are now exchanging documents over a transfer for Said Benrahma, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist tweeted on Thursday (1 February) that the French club will pay the Hammers a €5million (£4.3million) loan fee plus a €12million (£10.2million) buy clause in June for the Algerian international.
He added that the Irons rejected a loan proposal from London rivals Fulham as the 28-year-old winger now looks set to make the switch to the Ligue 1 side.
Almost there
It sounds as though the transfer to take Benrahma to Lyon is almost there as the clubs look to get the paperwork done before the deadline on Thursday.
This is a transfer that has been ongoing over the past few days after there have been a lot of negotiations behind the scenes over transfer fees and wages.
It had looked as though the Algerian may not make the switch to France as there were reports he was demanding a big payoff from the Hammers.
But it appears as though all the parties have managed to reach an agreement on that front and there shouldn’t be any remaining obstacles.
It will be interesting to see if his departure leads to any potential incomings at the London Stadium as we are at least one attacking player short.
