West Ham United: Dwight McNeil not top of Crystal Palace list
Dwight McNeil is not a priority for Crystal Palace which could leave the door open for West Ham to swoop for the 22-year-old Burnley midfielder.
Sky Sports reported (20 July) that West Ham and Palace have both approached Burnley about McNeil who is valued at £15million by the Lancashire club.
However, The Sun’s Alan Nixon suggested (via Twitter) on Wednesday 20 July, that McNeil is not a priority for Palace.
When asked about the chances of McNeil heading to Selhurst Park, Nixon responded with “not top of the list”.
This could well leave the door wide open for the Hammers to swoop for the midfielder, but whether it is the right move to look into remains to be seen.
McNeil hasn’t exactly set the world alight with seven goals in 147 Premier League appearances pretty grim reading for West Ham fans.

His 17 assists in that time does somewhat make up for it, however, most of West Ham’s attacking outlets managed to get to at least half that amount in the 2021/22 Premier League season.
Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio both managed eleven assists last season and Said Benrahma managed six.
It really doesn’t look like the Burnley man will be much of an upgrade on what West Ham already have.
If the Hammers do miss out on Jesse Lingard to Nottingham Forest, they would be far better off looking into a move for Ben Brereton Diaz or reigniting their interest in Villareal winger Arnaud Danjuma.
It is certainly time for the club hierarchy to add some attacking talent to their ranks.
