West Ham United door opens to hijack Todibo transfer as multi-million agreement reached
West Ham are waiting to hijack Juventus’ deal for Jean Clair-Todibo from Nice after agreeing a fee last month, according to TBR Football.
The online outlet reported on 7 August that the Old Lady are “some way off” the £33million that the Ligue 1 side are demanding for the 24-year-old.
The Hammers did reach an agreement for the Frenchman last month, matching the fee that Nice wanted.
Todibo insists that he wants to join Juve but his side won’t sell him unless the terms are matched, leaving the door open for the Irons to step in.
West Ham could still sign Jean-Clair Todibo
Julen Lopetegui clearly wants to bring a new centre back in and the former Barcelona man could prove to be a positive addition.
The pursuit of Todibo has seen the likes of Nayef Aguerd and Kurt Zouma be linked away, with a move to Dubai discussed for the latter [Santi Aouna].
This could prove to be a risk for the Hammers who appear to be putting all their eggs in the Frenchman’s basket in the window.
Considering it appears that he wants to stay in Ligue 1 or complete a move to Italy, it could be tough to convince him of a move to the Premier League.

There is no doubt that the ex-France international would be a positive signing and would improve the back line under Lopetegui.
With Max Kilman also coming in, it is all change at the London Stadium which could be a risk but could be worth it ahead of the new campaign.
In other West Ham news, the Irons remain interested in a Ligue 1 striker who is edging closer to a brand new transfer.
