West Ham United Director Tim Steidten was key to Niclas Fullkrug transfer
Niclas Fullkrug believes his history with West Ham United director Tim Steidten was key to securing his move to the London Stadium.
This comes after the German striker has had his move to the Hammers finalised with the 31-year-old signing a deal worth around £ 100,000 per week.
Speaking to West Ham’s official club website (6 August), Fullkrug shared that his history with Steidten gave him hope about the move.
“I know Tim Steidten very well because we have history at Werder Bremen together, and I had a very nice feeling,” he said.
Tim Steidten has transformed the West Ham United team completely
It was evident at the end of last season that West Ham needed to undergo some changes in terms of their players.
The club managed to finish in the top half of the Premier League table last term but their defence was amongst the worst in the league.
In fact, only the three relegated sides managed to concede more goals which shows how poor the likes of Nayef Aguerd and Kurt Zouma were last term.

And, whilst Max Kilman has been added to Julen Lopetegui’s ranks to help bolster their defensive line, the Hammers’ attack has also had a bit of a revamp.
Former Leeds United ace Crysencio Summerville and Fullkrug are the two ‘big names’ who have arrived to help alleviate pressure from the shoulders of Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus.
Whilst the transfer window is far from over and the London-based club are still being linked with potential arrivals, the 2024/25 season is shaping up to be a strong one for Lopetegui and his men.
In other West Ham news, Darragh MacAnthony has been blown away by the Hammers’ business across summer.
