West Ham United have made an approach to gather information on Juventus defender Dean Huijsen, according to Mirko Di Natale.

The TuttoJuve Journalist reported via his official X account (26 March) that West Ham are one of a host of clubs that are monitoring 18-year-old Huijsen, who is set to return to parent club Juventus at the end of the season.

Huijsen, who is currently on loan at fellow Italian side AS Roma, has impressed in his 12 appearances for the Giallorossi this season and has reportedly attracted the interest of several sides around Europe.

West Ham make approach to seal Huijsen transfer

Huijsen made the move from the Malaga academy to Italian giants Juventus’ youth sides in the summer of 2021, making a handful of appearances for their Next Gen in the previous two seasons.

This campaign marked his first appearance in senior club football, coming off the bench to make his debut in the 1-0 win over Milan in October. This was Huijsen’s only appearance before being loaned out to Roma in the January transfer window, where he has gone on to impress in his 12 games for the team.

Several teams, including the likes of West Ham, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Atletico Madrid, have developed an interest in the 18-year-old since this move to Roma, and are reportedly monitoring how Juventus deal with the player at the end of the season.

West Ham may not be able to offer the same competitive level of football as Huijsen’s other suitors. However, the Spaniard could opt to join David Moyes’s side where the average age of the defence is pushing 30.
