West Ham United: David Moyes wants Ben Brereton Diaz over Dwight McNeil
West Ham boss David Moyes maintains an interest in Ben Brereton Diaz and is favouring a move for the Chile international over Burnley midfielder Dwight McNeil according to Daily Mail.
The Guardian reported (20 July) that Moyes is keen to move for the 23-year-old Blackburn forward with the Irons now likely to miss out on Jesse Lingard to Nottingham Forest.
McNeil is also a name that has been mentioned with Sky Sports suggesting (20 July) that West Ham and Palace have approached Burnely for the 22-year-old who is valued at £15million.

However, it has been reported by The Daily Mail in their print edition (pg 74, 21 July) that Moyes is favouring the Blackburn man over McNeil at present.
Good move
A move for the Blackburn man looks a far better move compared to one for McNeil.
Brereton Diaz managed 22 goals and three assists in the Championship last season in what was a breakthrough season for the attacker.
He ticks a lot of boxes for Moyes with the attacker being able to play a variety of positions across the forward line whilst also being a goal threat as well.
It is a shock that the 23-year-old hasn’t attracted more interest from Premier League sides to date with his numbers in the Championship displaying that he is clearly too good for the level.

Moyes has had plenty of success when recruiting from the Championship in the past and a move for the Blackburn man could easily reap the same rewards for the West Ham boss.
Said Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen are two good examples of how profitable the Championship market can be when utilised correctly.
Moyes should 100% be looking at the Blackburn attacker over McNeil, who has hardly made an impact for Burnley in recent years and will likely come at a larger price.
With Brereton Diaz out of contract next year, this looks like a no-brainer for the club to pursue.
