West Ham United could sign Danish set-piece king Albert Gronbaek

West Ham could be a landing spot for Denmark international Albert Gronbaek, according to the Daily Mail.

Tom Collomosse reported on 17 October that the London Stadium could be a transfer destination for the attacking midfielder and “regular set-piece taker”.

The 23-year-old, Stade Rennes ace has been compared to Inter Milan Davide Frattesi and international teammate Christian Eriksen, although “their styles are a little different”.

The ex-Bodo/Gilmt starlet has “promising signs for the future” and could find himself signing for the Hammers in the future.

There is no doubt that the Dane is an exciting prospect and his ability over dead balls certainly would certainly be an asset for the Irons.

With that being said, it could prove to be a waste of his talents and transfer funds if the 23-year-old was to move to East London in the near future.

Given the wealth of attacking talent Julen Lopetegui already has available, it would be somewhat foolish to add more to the squad without making a sale.

This has seen summer signing Crysencio Summerville struggle for regular minutes since joining from Leeds United despite winning Championship Player of the Year last campaign.

This could prove to be the fate of the Denmark international if he makes a move to the Premier League with the Hammers too soon.

It has to be said that if one of Mohammed Kudus or Lucas Paqueta left the club, space would immediately open up for Gronbaek to come in and make a true impact on the side.
