West Ham United could now sign in-demand Northern Irish ace
West Ham United could look to sign Aodhan Doherty from Linfield after trials but will face competition from Everton and Brighton, according to the Lancashire Telegraph.
The Northern Ireland youth international is of interest to various Premier League and Championship sides this summer.
Doherty has already had trials in England with the Hammers and Stoke City but opted to sign a contract until 2026 with Linfield instead.
The attacking midfielder has impressed under Gareth McCauley for his nation’s Under 18s which has sparked interest in his signature.

The Hammers had the chance to sign the youngster before but, whether it was Doherty or the club, a move never materialised.
He had trials with West Ham and Stoke before a decision was made which saw him stay in Northern Ireland with Linfield.
Now a move to return to the London Stadium, this time on a permanent basis, could be on the cards if a deal can be agreed.
The Hammers are set to embark on a new journey next season with Tim Steidten taking charge of transfers and Julen Lopetegui as head coach.
The Spaniard could prove to be an unknown quantity when it comes to progressing youngsters into the first team next season and beyond.
Doherty is a Northern Ireland youth international and clearly has ability which has left plenty of teams interested in securing his signature.
Considering that there is a pre-existing relationship between the player and also Linfield, a move could be made possible this summer.
