West Ham United could move for ‘perfect’ Armando Broja transfer after Gianluca Scamacca exit

West Ham could make a move to bring Chelsea striker Armando Broja to the club after the departure of Gianluca Scamacca, according to Jacob Steinberg in The Guardian.

The newspaper reported on 6 August that the incoming funds (£26million) from the Scamacca deal could be put towards bringing Broja to the club, as West Ham have admired him for a long time.

It is also shared that Broja’s Chelsea future could be decided by whether the club choose to bring in another striker, with Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson having already arrived at Stamford Bridge, amid links to Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic.

Broja improves the side significantly

Broja would come straight into the West Ham side and improve it instantly, as the best striker at the club, who also suits the style of play David Moyes will want due to his physical nature and athletic build.

Despite scoring just nine goals from 38 appearances while on loan at Southampton, that period was enough to impress possible suitors. He has since spent a season at Chelsea with little-to-no impact or opportunities, so a move to East London could be ideal for all parties.

One goal the striker scored during his Southampton period against Crystal Palace, where he received the ball on the turn, taking just one touch to set himself before slamming the ball into the bottom corner from 20 yards, typified his style and shows just what he could offer at the London Stadium .

The Albanian’s mixture of instinctive finishing ability and hold-up play would make him the ideal replacement for Scamacca, and his Premier League experience makes him even more of a Moyes-style signing, with a starting role in mind.

In other West Ham news, the club have been knocked back in their chase for another striker.
