West Ham United could miss out on Luis Guilherme and Fabricio Bruno transfers in new update

West Ham are worried that they could miss out on both Fabricio Bruno and Luis Guilherme this summer, according to Jack Rosser.

The Sun journalist reported via X [3 June] that while both Brazilians have been offered deals by the Hammers, the pair have been offered big moves to Saudi Arabia too.

It is expected that both Bruno and Guilherme will end up in the Middle East this summer, leaving West Ham with two failed transfer bids before the transfer window opens.

West Ham United to miss out on Brazilian duo this summer

The Irons will be preparing for multiple changes this summer after Julen Lopetegui replaced David Moyes as manager at the London Stadium.

Fabrizio Romano had used his famous “here we go” slogan for Bruno’s transfer from Flamengo, while it was understood that the Hammers were getting closer to an agreement with Palmeiras for Guilherme.

However, both transfers now balance on a knife edge, with it seeming more likely that the pair end up in Saudi Arabia, especially with Bruno said to have rejected his contract in the Premier League due to the wage.

Lopetegui will be keen to make additions to the West Ham squad as soon as possible, with the majority of the current squad criticised throughout the 2023/24 campaign, most of all the defenders.

Kurt Zouma, Nayef Aguerd, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Angelo Ogbonna all received their fair share of criticism due to some of the defending.

With Luton Town, Burnley and Sheffield United the only teams in the top tier to concede more goals than Moyes’ side, it is clear where some of the major problems lie, which the signing of Bruno could have started to solve.

Signing a striker is one of Julen Lopetegui’s main priorities at West Ham this summer

Although Guilherme has far less senior experience, he looks to be an extremely exciting talent in Brazil and would have added a sparkle to Lopetegui’s new-look side ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

Luckily for the Hammers, the transfer window has only just begun, leaving West Ham plenty of time to find new transfer targets.

In other West Ham news, McAvennie has told Lopetegui told to copy Aston Villa next season.
