West Ham United could make Predrag Rajkovic decision post EUROs as Mallorca look to sell

West Ham United could maintain their interest in Predrag Rajkovic as Real Mallorca look to sell him this summer, according to Ultima Hora.

The Spanish outlet has reported (2 June) that the La Liga side wants to sell one of their two goalkeepers who they “can no longer afford”.

The Hammers have been named as an interested party after following the keeper’s progress “the most”.

Mallorca will wait and see if the interest from West Ham will culminate in an official bid and negotiation in the summer window.

The Serbian has been called up for Euro 2024 so a bid from the Hammers may now come after the tournament.

West Ham could sign Predrag Rajkovic as backup

Alphonse Areola has become the undisputed number one at the London Stadium after taking the mantle from Lucasz Fabianski last season.

The Frenchman was one of the standout names in the Hammers’ squad last season under David Moyes for his performances.

It must be said that with the Pole as the number two, the drop-off between the two is quite high and a new second choice could be useful.

The Mallorca number one kept nine clean sheets in La Liga this season [FotMob] across 36 appearances and he conceded 43.

With that, would the Spaniards look to sell their main goalkeeper this summer? And would he want to be a number two for West Ham?

Rajkovic is just 28 years old so has plenty of years left in the tank where he could easily be the first choice for a side.

Areola is the main goalkeeper at West Ham and doesn’t deserve to be dropped any time soon although some competition may be beneficial.

In other West Ham news, an update has emerged on the club’s pursuit to sign a striker who scored 33 goals in 2023/24.
