West Ham are expected to make new moves in the coming weeks for Jota Silva after Vitoria de Guimaraes lowered their transfer demands, according to Record.

The Portuguese outlet reported [22 July] that, despite being seen as the "jewel in the crown" at Vitoria, the 24-year-old could be available for between £8.4million and £10.1million.

Silva's contract currently includes a £16.8million release clause, but due to the need for balancing the books as well as the market conditions this summer, Vitoria have lowered the asking price.

West Ham United to re-enter race to sign Jota Silva

Given Silva's versatility in the final third - able to play anywhere across the front line - Silva could be a very smart addition to Julen Lopetegui's side this summer.

It has been suggested, as per Roshane Thomas [12 July], that the signing of Luis Guilherme could prevent the club from making any advancements in a deal for the winger, but his current price tag is too good to turn down.

Silva was in fine form throughout the 2023/24 campaign, notching 15 goals and seven assists in all competitions, prompting interest from Jose Mourinho and Fenerbahce [ABola, 15 July].

While the winger positions are some of the most balanced areas of the squad at the London Stadium right now, with Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus available, it would not hurt to find a decent backup.

The 24-year-old even has two international caps to his name, earning a call-up to the Portugal squad earlier this year and being rewarded for his performances.

Jota Silva
Jota Silva has been linked with West Ham United this summer.

Some fans have suggested that the Hammers are preparing for life without Paqueta ahead of next term, who has been linked with a move back to Brazil, and this could just be another attempt to soften that potential blow.

Silva is certainly an exciting attacking prospect, one that could make a real impact at the London Stadium next season.
