West Ham United could fund Union Berlin move for Chelsea outcast Christian Pulisic by signing Sheraldo Becker
West Ham could fund Union Berlin’s pursuit of Chelsea outcase Christian Pulisic by signing Sheraldo Becker, according to Berliner Kurier (2 July).
The Hammers have been linked with a move for Becker, who notched 12 goals and registered eight assists in 44 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit in the 2022/23 season.
And the German outlet are convinced that David Moyes will make the 28-year-old part of his squad this summer, which could then fund their pursuit of Pulisic ahead of their Champions League campaign next season.

“Christian Pulisic could certainly be financed following a sale of Sheraldo Becker to West Ham,” they wrote.
Bad move
Becker had a fantastic season in 2022/23 and helped Union Berlin to reach the Champions League for the first time in their history.
But at 28-years-old he’s not going to get any better and that was the first time in his career that he’s ever hit double figures for goals in a season.
With Gianluca Scamacca expected to leave and question marks around the future of Michail Antonio too, a new striker is going to needed during the transfer window but they have to be able to be relied upon to lead the line and score goals regularly.

Becker doesn’t offer that, but the fact that Berlin could use the money to fund a move for Pulisic makes no difference to what our plans should be.
He’s not good enough to be at West Ham and one anomaly of a season shouldn’t change that. The club shouldn’t be dragged into a saga that isn’t necessary.
