West Ham United could face ‘Huge’ dilemma if Paris Saint-Germain move for Lucas Paqueta – ExWHUemployee

West Ham could be faced with a dilemma if Paris Saint-Germain make a “huge” offer for Lucas Paqueta this summer, according to ExWHUemployee.

The Brazilian joined the club last year in a club-record £50m deal and helped win the Europa Conference League and avoid relegation, but has been tipped to leave the club as he is unhappy with the style of football David Moyes plays.

PSG have reportedly made their interest in the player known but writing on his Patreon (29 June), Ex says the club have heard nothing yet although if a “huge offer” came in they’d have a decision to make.

“The club has received no enquiries for Lucas Paqueta,” he wrote.

“No interest has been registered for the player but obviously if the likes of PSG came in with a huge offer that would bring a different dilemma.”

Problem

Losing Declan Rice is one thing, and it’s a big thing, but losing Paqueta on top of that in the same summer would be an absolute disaster for West Ham.

He was brought in to help take the club to the next level and after initially struggling to adapt to the pace and physicality of the league, he really kicked on in the second half of the season and was key to the good run towards the end.

Paqueta is firmly established as a first-team regular, but it’s understandable that he wants to play a more attacking style of football and PSG would certainly be able to provide him with that, as well as a decent pay packet to boot.

But West Ham have already shown this summer that we will not be bullied in the transfer market and any sales must happen on our terms, meaning it would have to be a crazy offer to even consider allowing him to leave.

In other West Ham news, the club are set to re-enter the race for this £40m man amid a Thursday development.
