West Ham United could compete financially with PSG for Gianluca Scamacca
West Ham United “could compete” financially with PSG if the Ligue 1 giants decided to up their bid for Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca according to L’Equipe.
It was revealed by Sky Sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio on Tuesday 12 July (via his personal website) that the Hammers have bid £33.7million for the 23-year-old Italy striker.
Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth revealed (via Twitter, 12 July) that PSG hold an interest in the striker but are unwilling to pay the £42.2million asking price at present.

However, L’Equipe has reported on Wednesday 13 July that the Hammers could compete with the Ligue 1 side if they reignited their interest in the striker.
Convince him
It appears West Ham are in a good position to strike deal with Sassuolo for the 23-year-old but convincing Scamacca to move to the Premier League could prove to be difficult.
Scamacca is now a regular feature for the Italy national side and knows that he will more than likely continue his good form if he remained in the Serie A for another season.
Moving to England is a gamble for the striker, but ultimately one he should certainly be considering.

If he managed to continue his excellent form for the Hammers, his stock would sky-rocket due to the coverage and attention that is present in the Premier League.
David Moyes must ensure that attempts to convince Scamacca that a move to the Hammers is the right one for his career going forward.
The Sassuolo hot shot would be a marquee addition at the London Stadium that would certainly raise expectation levels heading into the 2022/23 season.
