West Ham United consider verbal offers for Conor Gallagher, Scott McTominay, Amadou Onana and Youssouf Fofana – ExWHUemployee

West Ham are considering making verbal transfer offers for four midfielders after the exit of Declan Rice was confirmed, according to ExWHUemployee.

Writing on his Patreon account (18 July), the insider has revealed that the club are moving ahead with their plans to replace Rice in midfield and have a number of targets lined up.

These include Conor Gallagher, Scott McTominay, Amadou Onana and Youssouf Fofana, and the Hammers are now plotting verbal transfer offers to gauge who the most realistic replacement could be.

“We also are considering making verbal enquiries for other targets that we have reported such as Conor Gallagher, Scott McTominay, Amadou Onana of Everton and Youssouf Fofana of Monaco who the club watched a number of times last season alongside centre back teammate Axel Disasi,” he wrote.

The difference between a verbal offer and a formal written offer is just that, one is written down and one isn’t. It still brings the club’s interest to the table officially and opens talks.

All of the reported selling clubs are unlikely to want to sell easily, and therefore it’s important to find out what the price they really want for a player is before wasting time writing up offers for them to be rejected.

West Ham have clearly done their homework on which players they want to replace Rice, but they have a budget and won’t be looking to go over it if they can help it.

None of these names are new, but with offers now being considered it is showing that the club are moving forward and are keen to get things moving ahead of the new season.

There isn’t that long until the first game of the season so the quicker deals can be agreed and done, the better for everyone to avoid a slow start.

In other West Ham news, the club have held a meeting with one Euro club to open talks over a marquee signing.
