West Ham United completes Mohammed Kudus deal from Ajax, announcement ‘imminent’
West Ham United have “defied the odds” and reached a full agreement with Ajax for the sale of Mohammed Kudus, with the announcement “imminent”, according to Kickgh.com.
The Ghanaian outlet, with 14.8k X followers, reported (25 August) that the Hammers would pay £35.9million plus add-ons to the Amsterdam side on a five-year deal.
The Hammers faced competition from Brighton and Barcelona for the Ghanaian international, but will announce their latest midfielder “in the coming days”.

He’s coming
This news will be music to Hammers fans’ ears.
Their transfer window looks in tatters just weeks ago after the Declan Rice funds were left mostly unspent with minimal action in the window. Now, Kudus is set to be the Hammers’ fourth first-team signing this summer.
Their midfield looks even stronger now despite Rice’s departure with James Ward-Prowse and Kudus’ former Ajax teammate Edson Alvarez all joining the side.
David Moyes himself admitted that his new-look midfield may outshine his European Cup-winning side. As quoted by the Daily Mail (20 August), the Scotsman replied when asked if the side had upgraded: “Could be, I do think that”.

Now that Kudus is seemingly on his way to Stratford, that “could be” would likely change to “definitely”.
With attention from elite-level European sides like Barcelona, West Ham have pulled off a massive coup for the 23-year-old. He gave fans a taste of what he’s made of on Thursday (24 August) after scoring a hattrick for Ajax in a Europa League qualifier.
But that seems to have been his last game in an Ajax shirt, as he makes his way to London to become the latest Hammer.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers are keeping tabs on a non-Harry Maguire Manchester United centre-back.
