West Ham United complete deal for Max Hahn arrival, will start at London Stadium on Wednesday

Max Hahn has now joined West Ham as the club’s new Head of Technical Recruitment and Analysis, according to Training Ground Guru.

The behind-the-scenes news source tweeted on Tuesday (6 February) that the 28-year-old will start his new role at the London Stadium on Wednesday (7 February).

It said the news is a sign that the Hammers’ technical director Tim Steidten is making his mark behind the scenes as Hahn joins the club from Werder Bremen, where he was scouting and analysis co-ordinator.

Smart move by West Ham to bring in Max Hahn

It’s positive news to hear that West Ham are making efforts to improve the scouting department behind the scenes with Hahn’s appointment.

He will look to add youthfulness and fresh ideas to the Hammers scouting network after the recruitment has been a bit hit-and-miss over a number of years.

With the financial fair play rules putting pressure on clubs to monitor their spending, it’s important that just about every transfer turns out to be a success.

It’s important that Steidten is being allowed to put the pieces in place that he wants after he’s clearly shown he has an eye for talent, particularly with the signings of Mohammed Kudus and Edson Alvarez.

There will now be a few crucial months ahead for the club as we look to use Hahn’s expertise to prepare for the summer transfer window.
