Guido Rodriguez has signed his West Ham contract and has joined the club on a three-year deal, according to DSports Argentina.

The outlet posted leaked images via X in the early hours of 6 August showing the midfielder being photographed in a Hammers shirt and signing his terms.

The 30-year-old arrives on a free transfer after leaving Real Betis during the summer, with the Hammers beating competition from his former club and Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce [Sports Digitale, 2 August].

He arrived for a medical over the weekend along with Niclas Fullkrug [Fabrizio Romano, 2 August], but the German was announced on Monday 5 August while the Argentinian's contract signing was slightly delayed [Sean Whetstone].

The official word from the club should now be imminent with the third signing in quick succession expected to be unveiled on Tuesday 6 August.

His arrival will complete an excellent turnaround from Tim Steidten at a point when the transfer window was becoming bogged down in failed pursuits.

Fullkrug followed closely after the capture of Crysencio Summerville from Leeds United to give Julen Lopetegui a new starting striker and a dynamic presence on the opposite flank from Jarrod Bowen, giving youngster Luis Guilherme space to develop behind the pair.

The new Irons boss has been after a central midfield addition but has been left disappointed by attempts to land N'Golo Kanté and Youssouf Fofana.

But in Rodriguez he will now get an experienced international with a World Cup and two Copa Americas to his name, who has been snapped up on a free transfer.

There will likely have been a signing on fee involved but the move should still have been cheaper than what it would have taken to buy him.

On paper the squad is finally starting to come together so now it is Lopetegui's job to ensure the players adapt as quickly as possible, although a large amount of the preseason has already passed.
