West Ham United: Chelsea face fight to keep Armando Broja with permanent deal only option

Chelsea face a fight to keep hold of Armando Broja with a loan deal now not being considered for the 20-year-old striker as West Ham remain in talks according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Athletic reported (18 July) that the Hammers are closing in on a move for the striker as David Moyes looks to bolster his forward line this summer.

However, The Guardian’s Romano revealed (via Twitter) on Wednesday 20 July that Chelsea are reluctant to lose the striker with Thomas Tuchel a big fan of Broja.

However, Romano has also revealed that a loan deal is now not possible with a permanent exit the only route out of Stamford Bridge for the attacker.

Get it done

West Ham should drop their attempt to bring Jesse Lingard to the London Stadium and focus all their attention on bringing Broja to the club this summer.

A permanent deal for the Albanian forward would be a great piece of long-term business if the club can get it over the line.

He is young and will develop further whilst at the London Stadium as well as being a physical and dynamic player that would be an ideal fit for Moyes’ starting eleven.

West Ham have needed to add a striker for a number of years to give Michail Antonio some much-needed competition after the 32-year-old’s performance dropped severely towards the end of last season.

West Ham

If Moyes had another striker to choose from at the end of last season then there is every chance the Hammers’ fortunes would’ve been very different.

The London Stadium faithful will be hoping for a flurry of attacking additions to be Moyes’ next move in the transfer market.

West Ham have had a solid start to the window after bolstering their defence and midfield.

Adding two more attacking players and a left-back to the squad would be a solid window for Moyes.
