West Ham United check out deal to sign Fotis Ioannidis amid £15m Greek transfer news

West Ham are checking out a deal to sign Panathinaikos forward Fotis Ioannidis in the summer transfer window, according to Alan Nixon.

The Sun journalist reported on his Patreon on Sunday (14 April) that the Hammers are joined by London rivals Fulham in their interest in the “Greek goal God” as they look to bolster their attacking options.

He added that the 24-year-old is valued at about £15million by the Greek club, but they are willing to let him fulfil his Premier League dream if they receive a suitable offer.

Could West Ham sign Fotis Ioannidis?

There is no doubt that West Ham need to strengthen their forward options in the summer after they have once again been left short this season.

While Michail Antonio has impressed since returning from injury, he can’t be relied upon to play every game and needs some support.

That can’t come in the form of Jarrod Bowen, who was forced to play up top for several months earlier in this campaign, as he is far better coming off the wing.

Ioannidis has a reasonable goal record, having scored 21 goals in 39 appearances this season, while laying on seven assists.

But there are question marks over whether he could make the step up to the Premier League, with the Hammers fans craving a quality addition in the forward department at the London Stadium.
