West Ham United bid update shared on Roma ace Tammy Abraham
West Ham United remain on the lookout for another centre-forward but have not yet submitted a bid for Tammy Abraham, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
On page 20 of their print edition on Sunday 25 August, it was reported that whilst Roma striker Abraham features on a list of Hammers targets, he has not yet been the subject of an official bid.
Tim Steidten has already bolstered Julen Lopetegui’s squad with German international hitman Niclas Fullkrug, but may consider adding Abraham who has been linked with a return to England, and could be acquired for between £19.5million to £21.1m according to Gazzetta.
Will West Ham United bid for Tammy Abraham?
With the money West Ham have spent during this window, it certainly cannot be ruled out that they would splash further cash in the final week before the deadline.
The Irons reportedly remain “very interested” in Abraham [Foot Mercato, 23 August], and at the quoted price, is affordable and would come at a cheaper premium than Fullkrug who has been benched in favour of Michail Antonio in the club’s two opening league games.
Antonio, 34, is out of contract next summer – and the same applies to 32-year-old Danny Ings, who is the only other senior striker cover beyond Fullkrug which gives plenty of context to the Abraham pursuit.

Abraham himself, 26, is under contract for another two years at Roma though only played eight times in Serie A last season due to a serious knee injury.
A return to the Premier League may also give him another shot at the England squad following the departure of Gareth Southgate, having scored three goals in 11 senior caps to date.
In other West Ham news, a potentially “scary” moment against Crystal Palace has seen national acclaim for one Hammers player.
