West Ham United bid for Eintracht Frankfurt wing-back Filip Kostic is in excess of £12.7m

West Ham United have submitted a “big offer” to Eintracht Frankfurt for Serbian wing-back Filip Kostic believed to be in excess of £12.7million according to Florian Plettenberg.

The Sun reported earlier on Friday (22 July) that the Hammers had tabled an official bid for the defender.

Sky Sports journalist Plettenberg has since reported (via Twitter) that it is an official offer of more than €15million.

It has also been suggested that Kostic is open to leaving the Bundesliga side as negotiations continue between the clubs.

The Guardian has suggested (22 July) that the Bundesliga side could demand £17million for the 29-year-old Serbian international.

Moyes is busy

David Moyes certainly has a lot of irons in the fire at present with the Hammers currently in talks with Sassuolo for Gianluca Scamacca, as well as eyeing Chelsea youngster Armando Broja.

Furthermore, The Guardian has revealed (22 July) that the Hammers are also considering a move for Leicester City youngster Luke Thomas.

This could really be a sensational few weeks for Moyes if he can land any of the names that have been thrown about in recent days.

West Ham

Kostic would be an exciting short-term addition for the Hammers, with the wing-back providing 15 assists in the 2021/22 season as well as scoring seven times.

The Serbian would bring a level of European pedigree to the London Stadium, having been influential in Frankfurt’s historic Europa League final win over Rangers.

Kostic also featured in both legs of West Ham’s semi-final defeat to the Bundesliga side.

West Ham fans should certainly expect a signing in the next week after the amount of players the club has been linked with.
