West Ham United bend will to meet Bayern Munich demands over Mazraoui
West Ham United have agreed to the demands of Bayern Munich to secure a move for defender Noussair Mazraoui, according to BILD.
Writing in their newspaper (26 July, pg. 13), the Hammers originally wanted Mazraoui on loan but have agreed to a permanent deal to secure the move.
The deal has been agreed for an initial sum of £13m with an additional £3m in add-ons for the right-back to move to the London stadium.
BILD now describes the deal as “almost perfect” after the Hammers bent their will and succumbed to Bayern’s demands for a permanent deal.
West Ham to secure second defensive signing of the summer
Julen Lopetegui has identified the defence as the focus of recruitment this summer as the Hammers are set to announce their second defensive signing of the window.
West Ham signed Max Kilman from Wolves for £40m earlier this month after a long saga (The Guardian, 7 July) and are set to add Mazraoui to their ranks.
The Moroccan can operate as either right-back or left-back and made 29 appearances for Bayern Munich last season.
Mazraoui has spent two years in Germany following a move from Ajax in 2022 and will add a wealth of top-flight and Champions League experience to the squad.

Manchester United are also interested in a move for the defender but would need to sanction the sale of Aaron Wan-Bissaka who rejected a move to the Hammers in favour of a potential move to Inter Milan (The Athletic, 25 July).
Lopetegui will need to wrap up the deal quickly for the versatile defender to avoid a potential hijack from their Premier League rivals.
Interest from Man United could scupper the deal as West Ham are yet to finalise personal terms with the player but are currently leading the race due to the agreement with Bayern Munich.
The 26-year-old could join the squad in the USA for pre-season and start his integration into the side ahead of an important season at the London stadium.
