Chukwuemeka’s move to the London Stadium will depend on whether or not Chelsea allow the player to leave Stamford Bridge.
West Ham United want to sign Chelsea forward Carney Chukwuemeka
It is shaping up to be a frantic deadline day at the London Stadium. After months of speculation and confirmed signings, the transfer window will close at 11 pm on Friday (30 August).
But it appears as though, with a matter of hours remaining, West Ham aren’t quite finished with their business and are looking to complete deals wherever possible.
There isn’t much time left for the Hammers to get a deal across the line for Chukwuemeka. However, Julen Lopetegui will still be hopeful that something can be agreed with Chelsea.
Considering the number of players on the books at Stamford Bridge, the Hammers should be able to convince Chelsea to let the Austrian-born Chukwuemeka sign for them. However, it will of course depend on the conditions of the deal.
Either way, if they can’t get a deal agreed for Chukwuemeka, it looks as though they will still have Carlos Soler to welcome to the London Stadium on deadline day (via Fabrizio Romano, 30 August).
