West Ham United attacker Manuel Lanzini subject to transfer proposals from abroad – journalist

West Ham United attacker Manuel Lanzini has been the subject of transfer “proposals” from abroad that could seal his London Stadium exit this summer, according to Dean Jones.

Lanzini has amassed a total of 122 minutes of Premier League action this term, and former Eurosport journalist Jones suggested the transfer proposals from abroad could prove hugely tempting for the Argentine player.

He told GiveMeSport: “I know he’s [Lanzini] getting some proposals from clubs in other countries and it’s fair to assume that they are going to be of interest to him at this stage.

“He’s got a lot to consider, but we probably are at a stage where he needs to strongly consider leaving West Ham and West Ham might be at a point where they could move him on.”

Time to move on

Lanzini has proven himself a mercurial talent during his time at West Ham United, and this summer could well be the perfect time to part ways.

The playmaker has had his moments of magic for the Hammers but has never seemingly managed to reach his sky-high potential under Moyes. This could well be because he has never been awarded a consistent run of games, but considering the other options the Scot has at his disposal, who can blame Moyes for not playing him on a weekly basis.

With Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen, Pablo Fornals and Saïd Benrahma all playing in a similar position to Lanzini, he was always going to find it tough to get regular game time this campaign. A move away this summer could well be best for both parties and allow the Argentine to open up a new chapter of his career.

From West Ham’s point of view, Lanzini’s departure would trim the wage bill and potentially allow Moyes to delve into the summer transfer window.
