West Ham United: Albert Gudmundsson deal now on cards, ‘he can leave’ for £25m+
West Ham are interested in signing Genoa star Albert Gudmundsson after the Serie A club said he could leave as long as their valuation is met, according to Calciomercato.
The Italian news outlet reported on 27 March that, amid interest from West Ham, Tottenham, Juventus and Inter Milan, his current £25.7million asking price could rise again.
Gudmundsson is set to be “enchanting half of Europe” with his “magic” performances both for Genoa and Iceland this season after scoring four goals in his last two international appearances.

The price tag attached to Gudmundsson appears to be continuously rising thanks to his impressive performances this season, with the latest international break the latest catalyst for the rise as the asking price is expected to shoot up again.
Interest from the likes of Tottenham and Juventus could prove difficult for the Hammers to overcome, but the offer of increased playing time for the striker would surely be an incentive, especially if they can qualify for Europe again.
David Moyes’ team have been in desperate need of a new striker since Gianluca Scamacca left last summer, with Michail Antonio and Danny Ings the out-and-out strikers at the club, while Jarrod Bowen has also been used as the centre-forward.

With links to the likes of Victor Boniface and Ivan Toney also emerging in recent weeks, it appears the Hammers have no shortage of funds to spend on a big-name striker, making the fee upwards of £25million here seem like a bargain.
In other West Ham news, “phenomenal” Kieran McKenna has been tipped to take over from Moyes.
