West Ham United agree Jean-Clair Todibo transfer as they push him to accept

West Ham United have agreed on an initial loan deal with a £30.2million permanent option with Nice to sign Jean Clair-Todibo, according to Santi Aouna.

The Foot Mercato journalist reported via X on 17 July that alongside the massive fee, there will be additional bonuses included in the deal.

Although Nice wants the defender to accept the offer, Todibo still has his heart set on a move to Juventus, and contact between the two sides is also expected soon.

West Ham United to sign Jean Clair-Todibo this summer

West Ham’s defence last season was among the worst in the Premier League.

Aside from the three relegated teams, the Hammers had the worst defensive record in the top flight.

This is largely due to the poor form of players such as Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd who could both be on their way out of the London Stadium this summer.

Max Kilman has already been brought in by Julen Lopetegui to help sure up his defence but the addition of Todibo would improve it tenfold.

The pair would likely form a dynamic partnership and alleviate some pressure off of the shoulders of the rest of the side to outperform their defence every week.

Todibo has been tracked by many top European clubs this summer and still has his heart set on a move to Juventus but if the Hammers manage to persuade him to join, it could be one of the coups of the season.
