West Ham United ace Gianluca Scamacca gives ‘incredible’ interviews as he pushes for Roma move

West Ham forward Gianluca Scamacca has given “incredible” interviews as he looks to push through a move to Roma, according to Angelo Mangiante.

The Serie A club have reportedly made the Italian international their top transfer target this summer, as Jose Mourinho is desperate to bring in a new forward to replace the injured Tammy Abraham.

Sky Sports Italy journalist Mangiante tweeted on 26 July that the 24-year-old has already given his approval of the deal to sign for Roma and that he “can’t wait” to return to the Italian capital.

Saga continues

The saga over whether or not Scamacca will leave West Ham this summer just continues to drag on and it’s about time a resolution was reached over what is going to happen.

It’s quite clear that the forward wants to play for his boyhood club Roma, as all the words coming out of the reports in Italy seem to suggest.

The Italian said in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport on 12 July that Rome is his “home” and that it would be a “dream scenario” to play under Mourinho, who he is sure he would “improve a lot under” if he were to make the move.

Mangiante revealed in his tweet that Scamacca “can’t do any more” as he’s shown with “strength and clarity” that he wants to complete a transfer to Roma, with the Hammers currently digging their heels in about allowing him to leave.

It’s no surprise either, as they will be very disappointed to hear that the striker is so desperate to leave after he’s paid very little back of the £35.5million transfer fee we paid Sassuolo for him last summer, having scored just three Premier League goals in the last campaign.

In other West Ham news, Tony Cottee has tipped one potential Hammers signing to be the club’s next captain.
