West Ham United ace Crysencio Summerville turned down Premier League clubs
Crysencio Summerville turned down three other Premier League clubs in order to join West Ham, according to the Athletic.
The news outlet reported on 31 August that the reason for the Dutchman doing it was that he’ll be guaranteed regular game time at the London Stadium.
After being on Tim Stedten’s radar for over a year, the 22-year-old finally secured a move from Leeds United.
Crysencio Summerville adds a different dynamic to the West Ham attack
Summerville’s arrival at the London Stadium, driven by the promise of regular game time, brings a dynamic, pacey winger to the squad who can offer both width and cutting inside to create or score.
His youth and energy will likely complement the more experienced players like Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus, potentially playing in a system where he can exploit spaces left by defenders focusing on the central playmakers.
For Kudus, who can operate as a central attacking midfielder or a forward, Summerville’s presence might mean less defensive responsibility, allowing the Ghanaian to focus more on his attacking duties, potentially playing just behind the striker or in a more central role.
Paqueta, known for his deep-lying playmaking, could benefit from Summerville’s runs, providing him with options to thread through balls or switch play.

This dynamic could see Paqueta and Kudus in more central, creative roles, with Summerville’s pace stretching defences wide, enhancing the Hammers’ attacking fluidity and options in different phases of play.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers received a ‘Laughable’ offer for a first-team star before the transfer window shut.
