West Ham transfers: £42m raid on the cards to sign new defender and midfielder
West Ham are eyeing reinforcements this summer and a new defender and midfielder are understood to be among the priorities.
Graham Potter’s side will be ending the season in the bottom half of the season after a disappointing campaign at the London Stadium.
However, the owners will be looking to back him in the summer, which would be his first pre-season at the Hammers.

Koni De Winter and Morten Frendrup double raid on the cards
Genoa defender Koni De Winter is likely to leave this summer and West Ham are among a host of Premier League sides keen on signing him, according to Give Me Sport.
Along with the Hammers, Tottenham and Crystal Palace are the two other English clubs that want to sign the 22-year-old Belgium international.
There is also interest in his services from Inter Milan and Napoli, both of whom have lodged enquiries.

As the Irons are also interested in De Winter’s Genoa teammate Morten Frendrup, a double raid has been mooted.

With De Winter costing up to £25million, a £42million double raid could be on the cards for the London Stadium outfit.

West Ham would undoubtedly be a better side with the double transfer
West Ham’s interest in signing De Winter and Frendrup reflects Potter’s strategy to address defensive and midfield frailties ahead of the 2025/26 season.
De Winter offers versatility, athleticism and ball-playing ability, making him a prime target to replace the inconsistent Konstantinos Mavropanos.
Meanwhile, Frendrup, a 24-year-old defensive midfielder, is sought to rejuvenate West Ham’s midfield, especially with Tomas Soucek’s potential exit and the departure of loanees Guido Rodriguez and Carlos Soler.
Frendrup’s combative style and two Denmark caps align with Potter’s need for a dynamic, youthful presence to stabilise the squad.
Both signings signal West Ham’s ambition to climb from their current 15th-place position and target European football.
