Man City derail West Ham bid to complete new signing for Graham Potter

West Ham United may miss out on Elye Wahi as Eintracht Frankfurt are rushing to sign him from to replace Omar Marmoush, according to Fabrice Hawkins.

The reliable journalist reported via French radio station RMC’s sports website on 18 January that the Bundesliga club want to sign the 22-year-old as a replacement for Manchester City-bound Omar Marmoush.

Marseille do not intend to sell Wahi but are “listening” to offers and want to recoup the £21.1million they spent on signing him from RC Lens last summer.

Meanwhile, the Irons and another Premier League are “closely monitoring” the striker’s situation.

West Ham to miss out on Elye Wahi?

It is no secret that West Ham are on the desperate hunt for a new striker following long-term injuries to Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug.

Wahi is among a host of centre-forwards who have been linked with a move to the London Stadium in recent days, with ESPN reporting that the Hammers are in active talks to sign the France Under-23s international.

However, the East London outfit have to act quickly if Wahi is their preferred striker target during the ongoing transfer window as Frankfurt have stepped up their efforts to sign him.
